Voyageur Park Lodge is ideally located to be your base while enjoying the many winter activities available in and around Voyageurs National Park! From snowmobiling or cross-country skiing, to snowshoeing, ice fishing, or maybe some sledding with the family at Sphunge Island, our Lodge Suite and Lodge Room are available year-round for you to enjoy a comfortable and convenient place to relax.
Snowmobiling
Snowmobile trails in the area begin to be groomed in mid-December, and staked on the lakes within Voyageurs National Park in January – all as snow and ice conditions allow. Voyageur Park Lodge offers direct access to Lake Kabetogama as well as the 3K Snowmobile Trail; see map at Voyageur Trail Society website (and also available at area businesses). Trail conditions and more info on snowmobiling in our area can be found at:

Be sure to have your state sticker, use good snowmobile etiquette and stay safe!
Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing
Just south of Voyageur Park Lodge, you can ski the Echo Bay Cross-Country Ski Trail that offers 3 different loops with varying skill levels. You can also enjoy the area at a slower pace on the snowshoe trails both at Ash River Visitor Center and at the Rainy Lake visitor center, as well as the area shorelines and woods.
Sledding & Ice Skating
When weather and ice cooperate, the Kab-Ash Ice Road is opened to all vehicles from the Kabetogama Visitors Center. Drive your vehicle on the ice a mile to the Sphunge Island Sledding Hill or snowmobile down the lake trail from Voyageur Park Lodge.
Ice Fishing
If ice fishing is what you’re after, Reef Runner Rentals and Voyageur Park Lodge have you covered!
